‘Folk on a Boat’ Musical Sailing Trip
4th July 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm£35
Join IMT on an afternoon sail on the river Orwell accompained by the lively set of folk/acoustic music provided by The Silburys.
A great chance to get the best views of the rivers Orwell, alongside some amazing music by a fantastic local band, all while sailing onboard an iconic vessel.
Victor was built in 1895 by Shrubsalls at Ipswich for Owen Parry of Colchester, mainly for use in the linseed oil trade. In 1947 she was the last sailing barge to be decommissioned. She was converted to a motor barge in the 1950s, restored in 1974 and refurbished in 2005/7.
Leaving from her usual berth in front of the Old Custom House at 2pm the event includes an afternoon cream tea. Which is perfect to enjoy alongside the amazing sound of The Silburys as their music serenades the Victor along the river. Victor will return to Ipswich at about 5:30pm, depending on the wind and tide.
The cost is £35 per head.
